The Coastal Conservation Association is a national organization of
more than 90,000 members with chapters from Maine to Texas. The New Hampshire
Chapter was founded in 1998 and now has more than 225 active members. CCA is an
IRS approved 501c3 not for profit organization dedicated to the protection and
improvement of our marine resources both inshore and offshore.
The New Hampshire Chapter was instrumental in purchasing and creating
a coastal public access site off Route 1B in Newcastle. We are working for more
and improved sites along the coast and in the Great Bay estuary. CCA has been a
leader among non governmental organizations working for improvements of our
coastal rivers to enhance and restore historic spawning runs of Shad, River
Herring and Alewife. Streams slated for improvement include the Lamprey,
Bellamy, Cocheco,Salmon Falls, Exeter and Winnacut.
Each year we hold an annual Banquet/Conservation Auction in March and
a The Gulf of Maine Striped Bass Tournament & Auction in July. Both events
are designed for our members and friends to take part in enjoyable events while
raising the funds to support our many coastal conservation projects.
New Hampshire CCA members serve as commissioners at Atlantic States
Marine Fisheries Commission and are advisory panel members at ASMFC , the NE
Fishery Management Council, NH Rivers Restoration Task Force, Northwest Atlantic
Marine Alliance, NH Shore Fishery Advisory Committee, UNH Sea Grant PAC and NH
Marine Coalition.
